  7. !Guardian will cope with the following known viruses. If you think you
  8. have found one that is not on this list, then please let me know, so that
  9. I can modify !Guardian appropriately.

  13. Datadqm            All versions
  14.                    This is not a virus as such, due to the fact no actual
  15.                    harm is down to your discs. It is merely a desktop 'silly'
  16.                    that is capable of replicating amongst any application NOT
  17.                    already having a !Boot file.
  18.                    This demo was actually written by me, as a short demo to
  19.                    test early versions of !Guardian. Only four people were 
  20.                    given copies of it, so it shouldn't be too widely spread.
  21.                    The effect is a screen 'wobble' every Thursday (Friday on
  22.                    some versions and only Friday 13th on the final version)

  27. Extend             Versions 1.04 upwards automatically zap 'Extend' if found
  28.                    when !Guardian loads in.
  29.                    Versions 1.05 upwards include code to reset the machine
  30.                    if 'Extend' is detected.
  31.                    The 'Extend' virus doesn't appear to be that harmful, but
  32.                    adds 1k to the RMA space when run. If left un-checked, 
  33.                    this will fill your machine up and eventually give the
  34.  
  35. Net Manager        Versions 1.08 upwards
  36.                    No specific data available on this one.

  38. ArchieVirus        Versions 2.10 upwards
  39.                    The ArchieVirus seems to attack 'absolute' (FF8) file-
  40.                    types by adding some code on to the end and then jumping
  41.                    to the new code.
  42.                    I haven't actually seen the ArchieVirus, so !Guardian
  43.                    detects it's presence but doesn't do anything about it.
  44.                    Having pointed it out, it leaves you to deal with it as
  45.                    you like.

  48. AW Module virus    Versions 2.10 upwards
  49.                    This nasty little virus inadvertantly infected the 
  50.                    February 1992 'Archimedes World' cover disc. It adds 
  51.                    itself onto the end of modules, and can be detected by
  52.                    the fact that all your modules suddenly get updated with
  53.                    todays date.
  54.                    On 9th September 1992 it will give a message stating that
  55.                    your Archimedes has been infected with a virus. It also
  56.                    gives a generation count.
  57.                    !Guardian detects any modules on disc that have been 
  58.                    infected and also provides the generation number.
  59.                    !Guardian is also capable of restroing corrupted modules
  60.                    to their original form.

  63. IF YOU DISCOVER ANY VIRUSES THAT DO NOT OCCUR IN THIS LIST, PLEASE SEND
  64. THEM TO ME ON A CLEARLY LABELLED DISC. I WILL THEN AMEND !GUARDIAN AND
  65. RETURN YOUR DISC, TOGETHER WITH THE LATEST VERSION OF !GUARDIAN.
